Sunny day at Sentosa
Monday, October 24, 2011 / 12:50 AM

Baby had to drag me out of bed this morning, for we had gone to bed at 3am this morning. We washed up and got ready, cabbed down to Underwater world, Sentosa for a day out on the weekend. It's our 9 monthsary ((: and a lot more to go.

.
.

When we got there, there were quite a number of people either inside or lining up to buy entrance tickets. As a SAFRA member we were entitled to a 10% discount! Unless your a UOB cardholder only then will you be able to get 15% off the original ticket price.

After we had gotten out tickets.. We checked out the outside exhibit, one with lots of Sting Rays,

Walked down some steps to the Underwater Viewing Chamber to look at turtles.

Then went to get some food.
Had some cheesy hot dog combos from Hot Dog King right outside.

We ate mustard with our fries and dam was it good.

.
.

Before heading in I got a tad bit random and took a picture of the no feeding the monkey sign.

.
.

Took some pictures before heading in; who would take pictures with a snake for $7! I sure wouldn't.

Passed the Underwater sign before going in.. Oh it brings back memories of my younger days!

While waiting for the Dolphin show, baby and I checked out the Touch Pool; where you can touch the creatures. Baby asked if I wanted to touch but I was scared. 5 different kinds of sea life

(Anchor Fish, Bamboo Shark, Blue Spotted Stingray, Pufferfish & Starfish)

Next to the Touch Pool is the Ray Pool;

didn't wanna get to close as people were feeding them and they were splashing around whenever they got to the surface. 4 different kinds of rays in the pool.

(Either it looks like a pig or a bat; which I can't tell)

.
.

Something really disgusting WORMS!!

Actually they're eels.. Garden Eels to be exact;
Fact: Garden eels are shy creatures living together in a colony on the sandy sea floor. They grow up to 40cm in length, although no more than a half of their bodies are usually seen above the sand.
cannot imagine them sticking out of the sand like this under now..

Harlequin Shrimp
Fact: The Harlequin shrimp is a shy creature that is rarely spotted in the wild. It tends to hide in reed crevices during the day and feed usually at night. Its specialized claws and limbs are adaptations to allow it to prey and feed on sea stars, which it would turn over to devour alive.

Sounds like some carnivorous shrimp! Can you find it in the picture below it's well camouflage..

.

Peek-a-boo i'm here!

After checking out the exhibits that were near the entrance; we headed into the fossils & some very ancient looking fish exhibit. Totally forgot to take a picture of the name.

Check out the Sea Urchin's underside; does it make you have the chills. It sure made me fascinated but at the same time some shivers with all the little legs that it has to help it to move around.

Imagine that you have this huge fish tank, and the fishes in your tank aren't gold fishes but this!!

(Scary looking)

Baby sharks anyone.. or embryo development! They were just wriggling inside their sacks.

they look so cute not like when they're fully grown up man eating machines.

Now is the time that we've been waiting for.. time to head to the Dolphin Lagoon!
It used to be on the other end near Siloso beach, but they made it next to Underwater world.

Walking towards the lagoon with baby (:

Just before the show started there were 2 playful dolphins in the pool, who loves getting their picture taken (:

Some shots around the lagoon. We were in the centre, as the stage was right infront of us.

Other dolphins that were not participating in the program were with their trainers in their mini pools in the shade, separated from the 2 that was in the main pool.

It was a hot and humid day, but there were a lot of people waiting to see the show.

A panaromic view of the entire pool.

The show began with the 2 of them and their trainers

Pink dolphins

After the show we went back into Underwater world, and since we've seen mainly the stuff on level 1. We headed down to the Journey of Discovery!

Which is this lion or dragon fish? I cannot seem to tell them apart, they look so similar.

TAKO! I don't eat it but it's a huge ass TAKO!

Crabs crabs crabs who loves crabs? I do I do! Baby and I made our way to the crab section, so many different kinds of crabs most of them can't be eaten so sad ):

Coconut Crab

Decorator Crab

.
.

BIG underwater giant cockroach! I think well they look like one.

Then we took the walk-a-lator to see the big big fishes, sharks, rays and other species. There was a person in a wet suit with an oxygen tank cleaning the huge exhibit/aquarium/tank.

Pig/bat much?

*Rest of the photos are on my phone will upload them soon. For the moment i'm lazy to connect my phone to the computer. So they'll be up on here another time (:
