Safe & Sound
Tuesday, February 28, 2012 / 1:03 AM I remember tears streaming down your face When I said, I'll never let you go When all those shadows almost killed your light I remember you said, Don't leave me here alone But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight Just close your eyes The sun is going down You'll be alright No one can hurt you now Come morning light You and I'll be safe and sound Don't you dare look out your window Darling, everything's on fire The war outside our door keeps raging on Hold onto this lullaby Even when the music's gone Gone Just close your eyes The sun is going down You'll be alright No one can hurt you now Come morning light You and I'll be safe and sound Just close your eyes You'll be alright Come morning light, You and I'll be safe and sound... ---------- The lead song from the movie The Hunger Games - Safe & Sound by Taylor Swift ft The Civil Wars Labels: lyrics, movie, music, soundtrack |
I miss baby's attention..
/ 2:04 AM I feel alone sometimes. He's always up to his head with assignments/projects and exams. I want to be more understanding, I know I have. But I do have my moments when I cannot keep my feelings in anymore. I don't like fighting with him, who does.. the feeling is horrible. And some how I have a tendency to say sorry first, when it's not even my fault. What I hate most is empty promises, don't plan something with me get my hopes up and then smash it into little pieces. Seriously not cool! We had a little fight before he went to bed, something about this, I'm feeling dam crappy now! Not sure if i'm able to get a good night sleep tonight. Labels: feelings |
Singapore Airshow 2012
Sunday, February 19, 2012 / 3:05 AM Baby got free tickets to the Singapore Airshow 2012, but they weren't for the weekend. So I took leave for Thursday and got an awesome pass from it. The trade tickets are for Tuesday - Friday. We went with his mum, so the 3 of us woke up early on Thursday, had breakfast (Wanton Mee) with his Dad before taking a train all the way down to Changi Airport Terminal 3 to take a bus to the Changi Exhibition Hall. Can you believe the bus ride, which was chartered by SMRT was $5 each ride. So in totally that day I spent more than $10 worth of transport! Baby with the Ultimax 100 MK 8 As it was early, we walked around the exhibition hall, baby was telling us they have a small butterfly park in the Changi Airport exhibition. It's so cool they made a miniature version of it.. I took so many photos in there. Here are some of them. Walked around a bit more to check out the other exhibits before walking out to get ready for the airshow performance. There was this guy giving out free umbrellas as it was hot and sunny outside. So baby shout out to his mum whether she wanted one and the guy handing out repeated what baby said. It was so funny! Baby & his mum The performance that day started at 11pm, baby said that it'll last about an hour. His mum went to sit down on the stands while we went up all the way to the front to snap photos. I was sad for my camera battery died near the end of the performance and it's always super nice at the end and I missed it. I've QCed most of my pictures and here are some of the nicer ones. Hate waiting..hate the feeling..
Wednesday, February 15, 2012 / 11:21 PM Baby was suppose to come get me from his house downstairs as I was in the taxi close by. Told him I would be there in less than 5 mins. But when I reached he was not insight. I got worried baby said he will be without a phone. Then I started to spam call/whatsapp him and then he replied "wait" there was some issue.. Sigh I'm now all alone downstairs I have been waiting for 30 mins already. I hate the feeling of being alone because I'm not at home. I'm Under a HDB block and it's 11.30pm with my 2 bags! Looks like I ran away from home or something FML! It's cold down here!! Let's see how long more I have to wait before he comes and get me, if not I'm cabbing home because this is bullshit!! He came down to get me at 11.37pm. (: finally! |
Early Valentine's Day Dinner
/ 12:19 AM We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day one day earlier, as baby is busy with his presentation. Baby had places in mind but they were fully booked, this is where I stepped in. Flipped through all the NSman that I have on my work table and found Canopy Garden Dining & Bar located at Bishan Park 2. Baby made reservations for 2 at 8pm, after work baby was teasing me for he had wanted to open the pressie. But I told him only when we reached the place, as I wanted to make sure it was all nicely packed in the box before he opened it. The place is quite a fair distance from the bus stop that we alighted from, but it was nice to walk with baby. We passed a McDonalds at the park and we had to cross this scary bridge with house lizards running around. It's so dark even though there were lights at the side. I was so scared of stepping on them or them crawling up my leg. When we reached the lady who attended to us said that the restaurant we were suppose to dine in was full and wondered if it was ok if they sat us at a different restaurant but they will serve their food. We agreed and sat down at The Green Room (vegetarian restaurant). Looking through the menu We ordered Tapas, Soft Shell Crab, Beef and Lobster Spaghetti. While waiting for the food baby finally got to open his present. And then I started taking random things in the restaurant.. Baby gave me pretty flowers ♥ just like last year. Some shots of baby, my love ♥♥ Baby took some shots of me, I should have wore makeup maybe then I won't look so terrible. But he likes me without makeup.. oh such a dilemma! Our food arrived minutes later.. After dinner we walked back to the bus stop, I took the bus with baby and I technically sent him home on Valentine's Day as I was cabbing from his house back to mine. Baby want to wish you.. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! Hope to spend many more with you (: Labels: baby, dinner, valentine's day |
Oreo Truffles
Tuesday, February 14, 2012 / 10:21 PM I made this easy recipe for baby's Valentine's Day present. If you're a beginner at making/baking sweet and doesn't have a grinder. This recipe is right for you. Great for parties and gifts. Ingredients • Philadelphia Cream Cheese (for baking) • 2 Boxes of Oreo Cookies - 2 box = 4 packets = 56 cookies • Hershey Semi Sweet Chocolate (block or chips) Tools • Small/Big Rolling Pin • Metal Bowl (Medium Size) • 4 Zip Lock Bags (Quarter Size) / Or a bigger size • 2 Small Trays or 1 Big Tray • Wax Paper Instructions 3. Take your rolling pin (I'm using the small one) And start hammering & rolling your cookie bag until your cookie becomes crumbs like this 4. Place the metal bowl in front of you, then pour 1¾ bag of cookie crumbs in and about ¾ of the Philadelphia Cream Cheese 5. Start mixing both of them together until firm. If you're mixture is still wet, make sure to add in more cookie crumbs. 6. Take your Wax Paper and line both trays with Wax Paper (I bought mine from Cold Storage) 7. Now roll your cookie mixture into balls, depends on whether you want them small or big. (I have a mixture of both) 8. Pour your Hershey Semi Sweet Chocolate bar/ chips into a metal bowl and place it on a boiling pot of water and melt the chocolate. 9. After which you'll have to drop your cookie mixture balls into. 10. Realign the coated balls and place it back on the tray. 11. Sprinkle your remaining ¼ as decoration for your truffles. 12. Refrigerate them in the fridge for about an hour or two. 13. Take them out and place them into chocolate cups. (I bought 2 sizes/ designs) 14. The final product *You can estimate the amount you put in, I didn't follow the measurements on the recipe for this. Labels: baby, recipe, truffles, valentine's |

Discomfort
Tuesday, February 7, 2012 / 11:08 PM After work I went to the doctors to find out what was wrong with me, as I had this block right nostril since Sunday night. On the way to my clinic at Marine Parade, I was contemplating on whether to see the doctor. As my nose had cleared up, I was texting baby about it. But somehow I knew I had to see the doctor, I couldn't trust my nose anymore as it had clearly cheated my feelings so many times during the day. Block, clear, block, clear it was really a discomfort. I proved myself right, while waiting a good half an hour to forty-five minutes as the clinic was packed with people. When it was my turn, I told the doctor I might have a mild cold, but he told me I have a sinus/nasal infection. FML! It even gave me this irritating cough. He said it was viral when I asked him how I got it. After applying the iliadin drop into my right nostril, I can breathe again BUT now I have a runny nose and my right eye won't stop tearing = =. I'm on MC tomorrow, hopefully after resting I'll be better and jumping around again. *Crosses fingers* |
Falling sick..
Monday, February 6, 2012 / 9:52 PM It feels like i'm falling sick.. last night my right nostril was blocked and I could not breathe properly even if I wanted to. Then thinking that this morning it would clear, I thought wrongly. The blocking of the right nostril happen throughout the whole day off and on, cheating my feelings. There was a slight cough but I wouldn't think it was that serious and I had my sneezing session in the office. I can't sing properly I think that's one sign, sigh so not happy about it. There's seriously no time to fall sick, got lots to do in February. Since work is never ending I have no choice but try to not fall sick. Let's see how it goes tomorrow morning. Labels: life |

Our mini getaway
/ 6:42 PM This would be our 3rd mini getaway so far, this time to Bintan again. We had bought one of those cheap 2D1N deals on deals.com.sg. When we were travelling in the taxi to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal the weather didn't look good, which spoiled our mood as we were looking forward to our banana boat, kayaking and cycling which were in our package. As we waited to board our vessel Wan Sendari, the weather became worse with strong winds and heavy rain. The calm sea became rough which made the ferry to rock left and right vigorously. Thank god for my motion sickness tablet, if I had not eaten it while waiting for our ferry upon boarding the ferry I would have thrown up. As the platform was moving up and down. There were quite a number of China Nationals in front of us looked like they were on tour and could not follow simple instructions as to walk/stand single file up the steps to board the vessel. All I can say is Kiasu.. The journey was bumpy but I was ok with it, but poor baby felt sick after watching Tom & Jerry which was playing on the ferry. We reached Bintan's Ferry Terminal after 45 mins, cleared customs we were in the Ferry Terminal lobby waiting for other passengers who will be boarding the same bus as us. Baby went to looked at something I whipped out my camera and snapped a few pictures in and out of the terminal. [Our Bags] [Welcome banners in different languages] [Eagle statue] When the other passenger arrived we were ushered to our mini bus, hand in hand with baby as we sat near the door as to alight without difficulty. We stopped by this gas/petrol kiosk but looked more like a house that just sells. They had a few dogs around, felt safe in the bus even though I was like baby look they have dogs. After filling up, we stopped at a different resort to drop her off and we then made our way to our resort, Bintan Agro Beach Resort & Spa. It took us 1 hour to get there, boy were we in for a surprise as we didn't check out the resort before we booked. It didn't look like it was one of those star resorts. Looked like we put ourselves in some rural part of Bintan with no civilization. We checked in and we given the room 7310 in the Sea Master section. We were complaining to ourselves as to why they had to give us the top floor. Well we had to climb the stairs with our bags and the only lift that they have was only for staff. Wtf right! My point exactly.. we took a rest in our room and unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of our room.. Silly me! [Baby posing for me at the lobby; so cute ♥] After we took a walk around our resort & I was again snapping randomly.. [Sounds so promising but looks so dodgy..] [Attention board] We walked over towards the Sun Moon Restaurant.. [One of my favourite picture] While walking back to chow down on our dinner we chance upon these lanterns hanging from the trees, they had turned the lights on and it looked so pretty. [They looked like mandarin oranges hanging from the tree.] We had dinner at Asiana Beach Bistro. Oh did I mention our Dinner, Breakfast and Lunch is free. [Sun set] For dinner they served us Drink, Soup, Main and Fruit Dessert. But it wasn't filling so we ordered a plate of chicken but it came out dry. Couldn't do much at night so we returned to our room, I think the bed must be super comfortable. Apparently baby said I fell asleep at 8+pm Indonesia time which is 1 hour before Singapore time. Baby's alarm in the morning woked me up ): but he apologized for it and then he tried waking me up.. Was kinda of hard.. We went for breakfast at the same place as we had our dinner. It was buffet style but it was not that fantastic so I did not take pictures of the food. [Outside Oceanic Spa] After breakfast we went to do our King & Queen Spa at Oceania Spa, it was awkward as both of us have not done a full body spa before. Was asking my brother just now how much would it cost in Singapore to do a full body spa. He answered S$30 and when I told him the King & Queen Spa for 2 cost as S$130.90. He said it was expensive. So i'm not sure whether it was worth it or not. Would I tell people to go there to the spa, If you would like to try it out as an experience be my guess. But in my opinion I would not as you to go it looks quite dodgy. Baby has been over using the word dodgy while we were waiting to be served. After the spa we went back to our room to shower before checking out. We were late as our spa was about 2 and a half hours long instead of the 1 hour the receptionist had told us before. After checking out we went to the Sun Moon Restaurant & Bar to have lunch. While walking it started to drizzle, we noticed that it was low tide and we could see the sand banks with a lot of tiny crabs across it. I was facinated about it while walking out on the plank pathway out onto the water where the restaurant stood. It looked like they served us Nasi Lemak but it wasn't and it was not enough for us so we ordered Sambal Kang Kong and Waffle Dessert as I wanted it. The Sambal Kang Kong was yummy but the Waffle was chewy and was so so. After lunch we walked back to the lobby, sat there waiting for the bus while using their wi-fi. [Waiting for our ferry back to Singapore] [Then it was time to say goodbye to Bintan.] Baby said instead of buying all the cheap deals, we should save up for Club Med and I said save for Taiwan too. (: Saving time! |
