Another late food post, because of my procrastination to blog.

Our friend, she made reservations to sit inside in the air-condition. When Baby and I reached there first, we noticed that they had some queue no. machine just like the one at GRUB, Bishan Park. But there was no need for it, so we went in and we were letting them know that we're here. Apparently someone bypass the queue machine came in and sat down at our table. How can you not see the machine, it's by the door before you step into the restaurant. Lol!

Service? I would say it was terrible.

I had ordered a Sanpellegrino - Aranciata Rossa (meaning: blood orange) for my drink and the bad thing is they ran out of it and didn't even bothered letting me know that they didn't have it. Until after we kept asking them when is the drink coming, then only then they said it's out of stock. Oh wow right! Bad customer service, so I ordered something close to my Aranciata Rossa.

When my drink arrived at our table, it came in like some canister like mug with a metal straw!

The Potato Fries were awesome they're actually Truffle Fries with Truffle Mayo. Oh I would just go back for it again! I had order an Eggs Benedict, our friend XW had the Salmon Croissant and I think Baby had ordered a Big Breakfast!

Couldn't try the desserts there as we were so full from Brunch.

I'll definitely go back to have the food! I hope service will not be as bad as last time.

Here's another late post!

This time on food from all the restaurants that I've makan at for the past month or two.

May it be with family or with Baby, it was all enjoyable!

Food makes me happy.. but it also makes me FAT!!! and have established that so far..

Let's START~

.
.

Slices of Baguette with Sour Cream, Onions, Egg (White & Yolk) and Cavair

That was my first time in my whole life that I've tried Caviar. Had it at Baby's house!

~ ~ ~

My Sister Bakes Cupcakes

This yummy lovely cupcake was baked my colleague TQL's friend - We got it for TQL and Vania birthday. Something different instead of just a normal cake!

I had a chocolate base cake with strawberry icing and sprinkles

TQL, the other time let me choose another flavour and oh man that taste good too! It was the Lemon Meringue (with Lemon Curd filling)..

Barracks @ House (Dempsey)

This time round, I brought my family there, as Mum and Dad were in Singapore for a wedding. They asked me if there were anything nice to eat so I had suggested why not go to Barracks @ House. I know for a fact that they had not been there be for.

Brunch was awesome, so was the Taro Fries with Truffle Oil and the Dark Chocolate Tart.. *drools*

If you go there, they might have their credit card discounts, so ask! It really saves you alot of $$..

Best to book a reservation on the weekends, you wouldn't want to end up disappointed after reaching there to find that they don't have a table for you. And make sure on the phone they write your name down properly. Well they didn't for me, but it was good they found my "name" in their list under my number!

Teow Chew Meng @ Tanjong Katong

They sell really nice Mee Sua.. Had the one with clear soup and mince pork! They have another kind which my Dad and S-I-L was having. Mee Sua in this thick broth, something like Mee Sua in Shark's Fin soup (Starchy). I had to try but I preferred my soup based.

The Wu Xiang was not bad, but I've had better.

I would go back to have their Mee Sua again and try their Prawn Pancake
(apparently it's nice according to my brother)

You can actually CHOPE a table at Teow Chew Meng

Mellben Seafood Toa Payoh @ Lorong 8

Not bad when to try this place out with Baby and friends. I like the fried Mee Sua and the Sambal Kang Kong. Don't really like the Crab Soup with the Chu Mee Fen. The crab smell is too overpowering. Will want to try the Chilli Crab the next time round.

Toa Payoh is not the only outlet they have..

Check out their website!

High Tea
Sunday, July 7, 2013 / 12:50 PM

Baby and I went to have High Tea last Sunday, as I was having cravings.
The last time both of us were there was in 2011..

High Tea starts from 3pm - 6pm.

I was guessing on the timing as I didn't check online what time it starts.
  Phew.. Thank god for that.

So from his house we made our way down to Holland Village, Foster English Rose Cafe to have our High Tea. Well I did anyways, Baby had the Club Sandwich..

As we did not make a reservation, we were seated outside on the porch. Thank god the weather that day was awesome, not too hot and not cold at all. It was just perfect. The ambiance was cozy as we were seated at the side overlooking the greenery.

When the food came, I felt quite cheated as the last time we came I had Tomato, Ham, Cheese Sandwich and then this time round it was just Tomato and Salmon.. Luckily Baby was with me to eat the Salmon Sandwich. Well let's just say it's not my cup of tea to eat it.

The English Breakfast Tea was yummy!

Scones were nice with the cream and jam, I wouldn't normally eat it with butter although they gave. The Scones were a bit brittle when cut and it kept crumbling.

But nevertheless it was still awesome~

Meat Packing District
Friday, June 14, 2013 / 4:14 PM

We went there for lunch today, as we didn't want to eat opposite our work area. One of my colleague's he was looking through insing.com and found this place. Since all of us has never even heard or eaten there before, we ventured to the location and had really nice juicy burgers.

If you like burgers, go there and try! There are 7 different kinds to choose from. They may look small but don't let the small size fool you. It's actually quite filling! All burgers come with fries as a side dish, they have 4 different kinds of fries to choose from. Their meat patties are freshly made everyday (:

Menu

I had ordered the Cheese Burger and Truffle Fries.

Barracks @ House
Thursday, June 13, 2013 / 4:22 PM

Last Friday we went to Barracks @ House at Dempsey for my colleague's farewell lunch.
This is my second time there, the first would be when Baby took me there for our first Valentine's Day ♥

That was in 2011, ever since then we have not been back to this restaurant. So it was good that we dined there! Seems like they changed their menu as there are some items I have not seen or maybe I just don't remember.. But here are some of the dishes we ordered. (Didn't take pictures of everyone's food.)

1. House Signage
2. Truffle Taro Fries (OMG! They're AWESOME!)
3. Warm Toffee Chocolate Cake
4. Warm Strawberry Shortcake
(Picture looks good, but the taste was disappointing)
5. Curry Mustard Fries
6. Braised Pork Shoulder with Penne
7. Banana Salted Caramel Cake
8. Bitter Chocolate Tart
(The best out of the 4 desserts we ordered!)

If you like what you see, head down there and try their dishes (:

It's located at:

Dempsey Road
House, Barracks & Camp

Poulèt
Wednesday, June 12, 2013 / 3:41 PM

We had dinner with bf's ex-colleagues at Poulèt amazing french roast chicken, at their Bugis+ outlet.

Their other outlets:
I've actually been here a few times and sad to say i'm not an adventurer to venture to try other dishes. End up eating pretty much the same thing every time I patronise at Poulèt.

Here's what we ordered..

1. Poulèt Menu
2. Sautè Wild Mushroom Soup
3. Poulèt Roti - Signature Roasted Chicken (Half)
4. Mash Potato (creamy)
5. Braise de  Poulèt
6. Smith Chicken and Egg Mayo Sandwich
7. Caramelised Granny Smith Apple in Puffy Tart
8. Panna Cotta
(Taste like soy beancurd more than to eating Panna Cotta)

Overall the food was good, nice ambiance, great place to meet up for dinner with friends.
Price is quite reasonable.

the marmalade pantry
Tuesday, June 11, 2013 / 10:08 AM

We had met up with a friend at ION Orchard on the weekend, we wanted to go to TWG, but both outlets (level 1 & 2) had a very long queue. So I suggested why not head to level 3 and see if The Marmalade Pantry had a queue. The queue surprisingly wasn't too long but we had to wait, I reckon that it was worth it.

I had patronised at this restaurant before but that was quite long ago. I've tried their cupcakes before, actually had wanted to order one but at the last minute changed my mind as I spotted something I wanted to try - French Toast with caramelised pear and vanilla bean ice cream.

Doesn't it look yum! Sweet and savoury combined..

Baby had the Eggs Benedict and I had a small bite out of it.. Sad to say, I didn't like it as I know of better places for it like Tosh Restaurant on Beach Road, Hatched at Holland Village and Boomerang at Robertson Quay. Our friend had the Pork and Fennel Seed Sausage Lasagna with mushrooms and parmesan.

Unfortunately to my regret I had not snapped a photo of their food.

We ordered some Black Teas to go along with our food, I think I had ordered the wrong tea (Earl Grey Himalayas) as I didn't quite fancy it. But had a taste of our friend's tea (Malty Breakfast Tea) and I liked it. My tea had this taste to it that I quite disliked but Baby liked it, so in a way it was good.

rojak
Tuesday, January 29, 2013 / 9:09 AM

Baby finally got rid of my craving for Rojak yesterday! He brought me to one in Toa Payoh and to my horror it was closed. After which we walked to another one that was nearby and it was sold out. Then we remembered there was one at HDB Hub food court. So we walked back, Baby went to find a table and I queued in the long snake like line. "Seriously is it that good?" I thought, as I have never tried this one before but I was told that it was good.

Was supposed to buy $3 but Baby messaged me to get $4 instead.
It was the best $4 I've ever spent, it was that awesome!

I told Baby, that I should buy this whenever I come to Toa Payoh LOL! But seriously do I want to queue that long for this AWESOMENESS!

Nice Food!
Friday, November 4, 2011 / 1:27 AM

Baby and I was suppose to go to Cuppage to try out this Ramen place. But neither of us were hungry, so I suggested Bugis as we can walk around Bugis Street. Baby was reluctant at first but he gave in. Love him (: When we walked into Bugis Street, Baby mention that his friend's father had open a Zhi Cha stall here.

After walking the 2 top floors we headed down to the place, best choice ever made. I had the Hor Fun with Beef, but had changed the Hor Fun to Bee Hoon.

Baby had the Salted Egg Chicken with Rice,

he thinks it's not salty enough. But I thought it was yums.
The food there is good I will gladly go back there again!

Baby did some catching up with his friend, while I slowly munching on my food (: After we walked around on the first floor. To think that it has 3 levels and the only thing that caught my eye was on the first floor, which cost me $12! Also visited Kandy Kane, Kaykay's shop, but didn't find anything I like there.

Went home after.. can't wait for the weekend!

Sunshine Coast/ Market Square
Tuesday, October 4, 2011 / 10:52 PM

Before getting into the car, decided to snap some of mum's flowers which she grows in our garden, they're so pretty in red, orange and many more.

We left the house early, as our journey was quite a long! We drove up north to Sunshine Coast, I really like it up there as there were a lot of nice things to see there.

We went up Montville to have lunch, at this place called Poets Cafe

Dad had Curry

Mum and I had Scones with Fruits, Cream and Jam

Sister had Bangers and Mash

Baby had this Steak Burger

We were seated on the outside, even though it was chilly, there were this plastic screens protecting us from the wind. The view was nice, but it was blocked by the trees.

After lunch we walked around to show baby the village as he has never been here before.

Stopped a long the way to take some pretty shots of different kinds of flowers that were growing there. Not sure what are the names for all of them. But their colours were so nice that you could not not take photos.

Walked into this shop called 'fudgyboombahs'! What do they sell?
Fudges, lollies, chocolates and many other things (:

As we were walking back to the car, my sister came across this water bowl, it was so cute that I took a picture of it. It looks just like a doggy!

On the way to the Cuckoo clock shop, I turned around to take a quick snap at the shops in the village. Before turning back to snap baby and my sister in the distance (:

Came across some lavenders.. so pretty!

Sister took some pictures for us at the Clock shop, it's a small shop that sells many different kinds of clocks. From Grandfather clocks to Cuckoo clocks to normal clocks.

Went down the mountains, to head to the Ginger factory, to look for Sparkling Honey Water. But they did not carry them, really disappointed as it's really yummy!

After walked over to where parents were having coffee,

then walked over next door to the Macadamia Nut Factory to get some nuts (:

We bought the sample packets as it was worth it and went home to rest,
before meeting up with Louise & Terence.

We had dinner at Kadoya, I thought this Japanese place was new, until Louise said that there was one in the city at Elizabeth Arcade. And wham! I remembered I've eaten there before.

We had a Crab Cream Croquette

Baby had bento,

while I had ramen.

Terence had curry and Louise had udon, after we went to the dessert place next to Tea Etc.

Here are some pictures of what we had (:
